A new expert article by Dr. Katharina Peine and Thomas Hornig of highQ Computerlösungen GmbH has been published in the professional magazine Der Nahverkehr. The article demonstrates how artificial intelligence can help design public transport services more user-oriented, sustainable and more in line with the public interest. Within the AIAMO research project the focus is on the combination of data integration, intelligent management and direct user interaction.
A key topic is the concept of social mobility – that is, mobility solutions that prioritise participation, social responsibility and ease of use. In the project, this approach is being tested in practice using, among other things, the mytraQ editionAIAMO app and the highQ MobilitySuite. These applications enable multimodal route planning, real-time information and the intelligent integration of public transport, sharing services and cycling.
The article also describes how AIAMOnexus, as the technical infrastructure, combines different data sources and makes them usable for AI applications. This allows demand trends to be identified at an early stage, capacities to be better managed, and mobility services to be adapted more flexibly. In addition, incentive schemes create new impetus for climate-friendly decisions and strengthen eco-friendly transport.
At the same time, it becomes clear that modern mobility solutions require more than just individual digital applications. Only the synergy of reliable data, user-centred design and AI-supported optimisation opens up new perspectives for sustainable and socially oriented mobility management.
