AIAMO featured in Leipziger Volkszeitung: "Leipzig collects data for the traffic planning of tomorrow"

In a recent article, the Leipziger Volkszeitung (LVZ) highlights how the AIAMO project is laying the groundwork for future-oriented traffic planning in Leipzig — with the goal of managing traffic flows more intelligently and improving air quality.
Environmental data is already being collected at around 20 monitoring points across the city, with plans to expand to 50 stations by the end of 2025. The aim is to establish an environmentally responsive mobility management system that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to organise urban traffic more effectively and sustainably in the future.
Led by ITS Germany e.V., the AIAMO consortium — comprising partners from research, local government, and industry — is testing practical solutions in Leipzig that could later be scaled and applied in other cities.
